MCCS Coordinators
MCCS Coordinators act as MCCS liaison to the Area Commander and staff of a geographic area at MCRD Parris Island/ERR and MCAS Beaufort. They also serve as conduit through which the commander and staff gain knowledge of, and direct access to, the full spectrum of services offered by MCCS. A Coordinator is also the liaison for individual Active Duty members and MCCS services.
Additionally, they plan, develop and coordinate MCCS support of active duty military personnel and family needs. Area Coordinators implement policies or guidance with focus on coordination of programs, services and activities. They are instrumental in the monitoring of programs and initiating corrective action to ensure unit support by MCCS programs. The Area Coordinators also support multiple commands’ family readiness programs and provides training within other areas of family readiness. |

Sylvia has been with Marine Corps Community Services in several capacities prior to becoming the MCRD MCCS Area Coordinator. First, as a Family Readiness Officer at 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, and then as a Program Trainer with Marine Corps Family Team Building on Parris Island.
As the MCCS Area Coordinator, Sylvia is the direct connection to the Units serving as the single point of contact for the over 80 programs and organizations within MCCS. As a liaison between Unit Command Teams, their Family Readiness Officers, and MCCS, Sylvia provides guidance and focus to the efforts of MCCS in meeting the needs of the Marines, Sailors, and their Families on Parris Island. She also assists units by helping facilitate unit functions, holiday parties, family days and MCCS events.
Sylvia is originally from Central Texas where she attended St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas. Married to a Marine, Sylvia now calls Beaufort, South Carolina home as they have chosen to make the beautiful Carolina Lowcountry their retirement home.

Christina has been an employee of Marine Corps Community Services for 5 years. She started at the Officers' Club and has spent the past 3 1/2 years working with Marine Corps Family Team Building aboard MCAS Beaufort. Christina strives to assist the Marines, Sailors and families in any way she can.
As the MCCS Coordinator, Christina serves as a resource for Commanders regarding commercial sponsorship acceptance, unit fund policies and proper fundraising coordination. She often assists units by helping facilitate unit functions, holiday parties, family days and MCCS events. Christina is looking forward to helping coordinate the Marine Corps Balls and offer a safe and memorable event for the Marines and their guests. She maintains liaison with Command Teams, Family Readiness Officers and personnel of MCCS activities to ensure necessary support and resources are available.
Originally from western Pennsylvania, Christina moved to Beaufort, SC in 2005 with her Marine and has been enjoying the warmer weather.
