Training Requirements for MCCS Facilities
Facility Managers/Supervisors will be the safety officer and fire warden for their facilities, and it is suggested that an alternate safety officer and Fire Warden also be appointed.
- Training requirements for facilities safety officers.
- 30 hour OSHA course.
- Initial manager 4 hour safety training with annual refresher.
- Operational Risk Management with yearly refresher training.
- All other MCCS employees. 10 hour OSHA with Operational Risk Management Training and 4 hour annual refresher training.
- All Facilities must appoint a Fire Warden and Safety Officer in writing. All Fire Wardens stationed at MCRD Parris Island will receive their training from MCRD Fire Department. All Fire Wardens stationed at MCAS Beaufort, will receive their training from MCAS Fire Department. For class times and dates contact each fire department respectively.
- Facility manages and supervisors of MCRD and MCAS will schedule and take all safety training through MCAS Department of Safety and Standardization.
- Each MCCS facility will conduct monthly safety meetings to include, the subject, name of the attendees and date training was conducted. It will be documented and kept for one calendar year. An additional requirement is HAZ-COM that is unique to YOUR facility such as: How to deal with a Gas spill at the Marine Mart, gas pumps, etc.
- Additional Required Training is dependent on job assignments such as: Lock Out-Tag Out course, Confined Spaces Training and other training as directed.
